St. Thomas Gets Garbage Collection Boost
St. Thomas residents can anticipate improved garbage collection services as Metropolitan Parks and Markets (MPM) Waste Management Limited receives four new tipper trucks. Public Cleansing Manager Nigel Gooden announced plans to address bulky waste in Seaforth, Yallahs, and Llandewey.
While the parish has been managing garbage collection well, efforts are ongoing to clear backlogs promptly. Residents are urged to avoid illegal dumping and keep garbage properly containerized. These new trucks are part of a larger initiative, with the National Solid Waste Management Authority receiving over 50 new vehicles worth $1.3 billion to enhance island-wide collection efforts.
